Apprenticeship

Description:

CAREER opportunities for individuals seeking to establish long-term employment in a technical trade.  Now hiring for indentured apprentices in the Building Automation/Direct Digital Controls (HVAC) trade.

Training will be provided on the following:

  • Installation of building automation systems.
  • Configuration of communication network(s).
  • Configuration and programming of unitary controllers.
  • Creation of network area controller databases including control logic, alarm handling, historical trend logs, etc.
  • Integration of third-party devices using open protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, etc.
  • Creation of graphical user interfaces (Webpages).
  • Commissioning of control applications, field testing and calibration of physical devices, and system(s) start-up.
Qualifications:
The following are requirements of the position; strong desire to learn a technical trade and establish a career, maturity, strong oral and written communication skills, willingness to work hard and follow directions, mechanical aptitude, valid and clear drivers license. Industry related (HVAC) education and/or experience preferred or computer science education and/or experience preferred.

Senior Controls Technician

Description:
Career opportunity for an individual seeking to establish long-term employment in the Building Automation System (BAS)/Direct Digital Controls (DDC)industry, in a truly "team-oriented" environment.

The primary responsibilities of this position are:

  • Project manage construction projects to include scheduling and accessing manpower needs.
  • Manage/supervise installation teams and/or subcontractors.
  • Configure communication network(s).
  • Configure and program unitary controllers.
  • Create network area controller databases including control logic, alarm handling, historical trend logs, etc.
  • Integrate third-party devices using open protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, etc.
  • Create system graphics (Webpages).
  • Commission control applications, field test and calibrate physical devices, and perform system(s) start-up.
  • Owner training.
  • Service of BAS/DDC systems.

Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to; participate in on-site construction meetings, daily interaction with building operators, contractors, consultants, etc., and assist with system engineering.

Strong oral and written communication skills, valid and clear drivers license are necessary.

Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of directly related experience in the building automation systems industry.
